Dark Chocolate
Plain dark chocolate usually contains over 70% cocoa solids and is believed to be a very healthy way of satisfying cravings for chocolate. It does not feature too much sugar or vast amounts of saturated fat, and it features flavonoids, natural antioxidants.
Scientists have stated that consuming dark chocolate is good for cardiovascular health. The flavonoids have been reported to help in preventing blood clots. It has not been recommended to consume dark chocolate with dairy products as it has been said that the beneficial compounds may be reduced by around 50%. Milk, for example, may block flavonoid absorption. Dark chocolate features large quantities of lycopene, which has been reported to help in combating prostate cancer.
