Most of the cholesterol in the bloodstream does not come directly from the diet, but is produced in the liver. There are specific foods that, it is believed, stimulate the secretion of insulin, which as a result increases cholesterol production in the liver. It has been said that foods, which usually do this, should really be moderated in an individual’s diet. These feature refined carbohydrates such as white bread, pasta, biscuits and sugar.
